THE CONFUSED TREE

Once upon a time, in somewhere which could be anywhere, and at a time could be any time, there was a beautiful garden, with apples, oranges, pears and beautiful roses, all of them were happy and satisfied. Everything was joy there, except for a deeply sad tree. He had a serious problem: He didn’t know who he was.

- The apple tree said: Lack of concentration is what happen to you. If you really try it, you will be able to have some delicious apples. Do you see how easy it is?’

- The Rose bush demanded: don’t listen to him. It’s easier to have roses and..do you see what beautiful they are?

The desperated tree tried to do everything that the other trees in the garden suggested him, as he failed to be like the others, he felt increasingly frustrated. One day, the wisest birds in the forest, an owl, arrived to the garden and when he saw the desperation of the tree exclaimed:

- Don’t worry. Your problem isn’t so serious. It is the same for many beings on the Earth. I will give you the solution. Don’t spend your life trying to be as the others want. Be yourself, know your personality and behavior and you will reach it. The most important thing is to listen your inner voice. And the wise owl disappeared.

- Being yourself? Knowing myself? What is the meaning of my inner voice?.the desperated tree wondered himself. And closing his eyes and ears, he opened his heart and finally he could listen his inner voice telling him:

- You will never produce apples because you aren’t an apple tree, you won’t bloom every spring because obviously you aren’t a rose bush. You are an oak, and your destiny is growing big and majestic, giving shelter to birds and shade for travelers, offering a great beauty to the landscape…you have a mission, dear oak, fulfit it!

And the confused tree became strong and sure. He was admired and respected by all the trees and little animals in the garden and this place was a really special and fantastic.

And you? Do you listen you inner voice? In the life, everybody has a place in the word and we must develop our values and attitudes there. Only in this way…we will be really happy forever.
